Wind Band

Onnen poika - Lucky boy

difficulty level 1, price 30 €
Composed by Timo Forsström

One can have real full-bodied musical repertoire even with modest playing skills. Onnen poika encourages the aspiring musician to develop oneself as well as creates faith in the listeners.

Onnen poika is downright playable already by a musician with only six months of musical experience with one's instrument.

Miss Honeymelon

difficulty level 2, price 30 €
Composed by Timo Forsström

Moderate Rock. Rock-extravaganza in the spirit of the 60's. Well suitable also for the less-experienced musician.

Appändaun

difficulty level 0, price 30 €
Composed by Janne Ikonen

Great tune for persons who have just started playing their instrument. All parts start from the enharmonic F-note. Sections of the band go up with other sections going down for the length of three whole-steps. Compositions thirds-seconds harmonics are formed via melodic and harmonic cross-movements. And like that wasn't enough, the piece has been designed so that it forces the musician (and hence, the band) to practise dynamics and sectional dialogue.

TRööTTää (Honk that horn!)

difficulty level 0, price 30 €
Composer Janne Ikonen

Magnificient repertoire for the beginner. Trööttää is based on two tonal starting points: Bb and F - notes. Hovering close to these levels three melodies are paralleling each other forming an exiting harmony in fourths and fifths. Trööttää makes palying in an orchestra a magnificient experience with first sight.

Orchestration for Appändaunin ja Trööttään: Flute, Oboe, Clarinet, A-sax, T-sax, Horn in F, Horn in es, Trumpet, Trombone, Euphonium, Tuba, Snare Drum / Tambourine, Cymbal / Triangle, Bass Drum, Orchestral Bells.
Both pieces of work can also be performed with a smaller line-up.

Ankkuripuiston mestarilaulajat (The Master Singers of Anchor Park)

price for the entire package 60 €. Three short works in the package. Difficulty level for all 1.
Composer Timo Katila

The brilliant mini-works of Timo Katila are rhythmically simple, they move within a fifth (c-g brass), they act conforming to the call-response-choir principle, where a dialogue is taking place and use tutti movements as an effect. The tonal result of the compositions is not excessively affected by any parts left unplayed, making the works meaningful also with less-than full line-ups.

Meidän jengi (Our tribe)

price of package 60 €. Four short works in the same package. Difficulty level 1-2.
Arranged by Timo Katila

Difficulty level 2, price 30 €
Traditional, arranged by Janne Ikonen

Funny and easy-to-play concert work familiar for some from the Pikkupoika postiljooni. Half-way through the tune the phrasing changes into a phrasing based on triplets. There are easy solo parts and some introductory big band phrasing written in to the latter part of the composition. A comfortable introduction to jazz-related rhythmique.
