THE FINNISH BRASS SEPTET – SOMETHING UNIQUE FROM FINLAND
Brass septet is the most “Finnish” of different band line-ups in the world. The original composition of a Finnish brass septet consists of an Eb-cornet, 1st and 2nd Bb cornets, Eb-alto horn, Bb-tenor horn, Bb-barytone horn (euphonium) and a tuba. The unique sound of a brass septet is achieved by having all the instruments come from the board-mensure cornet family. You can also play this material easily with, trumpets, french horns, trombones etc.
These Ave Maria arrangements are from The Guards Brass Septet record Angel Music (Warner)
Soloist in record is one of the most accomplished trumpet players of his generation, Jouko Harjanne and conducted by chief conductor of Finnish Defence Forces Elias Seppälä
The Guards Septet has proviously released the recordings: With Guts and Heart (KSCD0192) Fanfare for the Common Man (KSCD0295) , The Three Kings (BLKCD1), Angel Music (Warner) with Jouko Harjanne (trp.soloist) and Narva- Tunes of Comfort (SAMCD34) with Jouko Harjanne (trp.soloist) , The Peacetime Marches with Jukka Perko (sax.soloist)
